OTAGOLANDS is an acoustic folk-jazz ensemble lead by songwriter Richard Leschen whose songs are spun from the fine threads of folk music (bluegrass, old time Americana, English folk, etc.) and woven with a bit of jazz syntax. The debut album, The Pleasure of Ruins, features Leschen on guitar, mandolin and vocals and Vanessa McGowan on double bass and background vocals. Maree Thom joined Leschen on the 2013 Winter Tour of the North Island. The 2014 tour of the North of the South Island will include far-reaching jazz musos Nigel Gavin (guitar, and electronics).
