Richard Leschen is a songwriter and guitarist born in the cypress flats of Newport, Arkansas, now living in New Zealand. He has worked in the local NZ scene with various folks (from bluegrass to Hindustani musicians) and has three solo albums. He founded the Bunker Hill Folk Review where many great kiwi artists are showcased.
Nigel Gavin (guitar) has been working and contributing for years to New Zealands most original acoustic jazz music. And, is it without doubt, a pleasure to have Nigel touring in Otagolands in 2014. Have a listen of Daisy Chain and you’ll be transformed!
Maree Thom is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist who has worked with some of the great names in (Don McGlashan & The Seven Sisters, The Topp Twins), and to come (Sixto Rodriguez) to New Zealand. She joined Leschen on the Winter 2013 tour, playing accordion and bass, and headed overseas for 18 months the next day after the final gig of the tour!
Vanessa McGowan is a bassist and vocalist featured on The Pleasure of Ruins. She has worked with many outstanding groups in New Zealand and England, including the Caitlin Smith Band and other jazz artists. Vanessa is a member of the pop-folk duo Tattletale Saints and has her own release to boot.
